Terms of Service

1. Scope

These terms apply to use of the SteelCortex website and, where relevant, access to SteelCortex client features and services. A proposal, order form, statement of work, service schedule or other signed agreement may contain additional or different terms. Where there is a conflict, the specifically agreed written terms will normally take priority for that engagement.

2. Authorised use

You must use SteelCortex lawfully, comply with the Acceptable Use Policy and ensure that you have authority to provide any systems, domains, accounts, data or evidence included in a security engagement.

3. Service scope

Security reviews, monitoring, investigations, training, implementation support and other services are limited to the scope agreed in writing. Activities outside that scope are not included merely because they are technically possible or visible during an engagement.

4. Client responsibilities

• Provide accurate information reasonably required to perform the agreed work.
• Identify authorised contacts and decision-makers.
• Maintain appropriate backups and change controls for production systems.
• Protect credentials and promptly report suspected account compromise.
• Review and act on security recommendations according to the organisation’s own risk decisions.

5. Security findings

Cybersecurity assessments reflect the scope, evidence and conditions available at the time of review. No assessment can prove that a system is free from all vulnerabilities or future compromise. Findings and recommendations should therefore be treated as risk-reduction guidance rather than a guarantee of security.

6. Availability and managed services

Service availability, support hours, monitoring coverage and response targets apply only where explicitly stated in the relevant agreement. The website does not by itself create a commitment to 24/7 monitoring or a particular service level.

7. Fees and payment

Fees, taxes, payment dates, renewal terms and any usage-based charges are set out in the applicable quotation, order form or agreement. Published website pricing is indicative unless expressly described as fixed.

8. Intellectual property

SteelCortex retains rights in its platform, methods, templates, branding and general know-how. Clients retain rights in their own data and materials. Rights to specific deliverables and permitted internal use should be described in the relevant agreement.

9. Confidentiality

Each party should protect confidential information received from the other and use it only for the purpose for which it was disclosed, subject to legal requirements and the applicable contractual terms.

10. Limitation and professional judgement

SteelCortex provides cybersecurity analysis and support within the agreed scope. It does not replace legal advice, regulatory advice, accredited audit, law enforcement or specialist forensic services where those are required. Liability limitations should be set out in the applicable commercial agreement and reviewed by qualified legal counsel.

11. Suspension and termination

Access may be suspended where necessary to protect systems, investigate misuse or respond to non-payment or a material breach. Contractual termination rights are governed by the relevant service agreement.

12. Changes

Website terms may be updated from time to time. Material contractual changes to active client services should be handled according to the applicable agreement.
